    the greatest name is النعيم
    AL NA'EEM

    so why is it the greatest and what does it mean?

    na'eem means Joy or Bliss or Pleasure

    the secret is not in the speaking or reciting of the name but it is in understanding the name. The name is not greater than any other name of Allah, but the reason why it is called the "Greatest" name of Allah is because "Greatness" is its Quality,

    it is the quality of the name because it describes that there is a greater Bliss/Joy/Na'eem than the joy of heaven (الجنة)

    this is in line with the ayah:

    وَعَدَ اللَّهُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ جَنَّاتٍ تَجْرِي مِن تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا وَمَسَاكِنَ طَيِّبَةً فِي جَنَّاتِ عَدْنٍ ۚ وَرِضْوَانٌ مِّنَ اللَّهِ أَكْبَرُ ۚ ذَ‌ٰلِكَ هُوَ الْفَوْزُ الْعَظِيمُ
    Allah hath promised to Believers, men and women, gardens under which rivers flow, to dwell therein, and beautiful mansions in gardens of everlasting bliss. But the greatest bliss is the good pleasure of Allah. that is the supreme felicity.

    so what exactly is the good pleasure of Allah and where else is it mentioned in the koran?

    أَفَمَنِ اتَّبَعَ رِضْوَانَ اللَّهِ كَمَن بَاءَ بِسَخَطٍ مِّنَ اللَّهِ وَمَأْوَاهُ جَهَنَّمُ ۚ وَبِئْسَ الْمَصِيرُ
    Is the man who follows the good pleasure of Allah Like the man who draws on himself the wrath of Allah, and whose abode is in Hell?- A woeful refuge!

    so what happens if you follow the good pleasure of Allah so he is pleased with you?

    يَهْدِي بِهِ اللَّهُ مَنِ اتَّبَعَ رِضْوَانَهُ سُبُلَ السَّلَامِ وَيُخْرِجُهُم مِّنَ الظُّلُمَاتِ إِلَى النُّورِ بِإِذْنِهِ وَيَهْدِيهِمْ إِلَىٰ صِرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ
    Wherewith Allah guideth all who seek His good pleasure to ways of peace and safety, and leadeth them out of darkness, by His will, unto the light,- guideth them to a path that is straight.

    what else ?

    لَّقَدْ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ إِذْ يُبَايِعُونَكَ تَحْتَ الشَّجَرَةِ فَعَلِمَ مَا فِي قُلُوبِهِمْ فَأَنزَلَ السَّكِينَةَ عَلَيْهِمْ وَأَثَابَهُمْ فَتْحًا قَرِيبًا
    Allah.s Good Pleasure was on the Believers when they swore Fealty to thee under the Tree: He knew what was in their hearts, and He sent down Tranquillity to them; and He rewarded them with a speedy Victory;

    but lets take it one step further....

    قَالَ اللَّهُ هَـٰذَا يَوْمُ يَنفَعُ الصَّادِقِينَ صِدْقُهُمْ ۚ لَهُمْ جَنَّاتٌ تَجْرِي مِن تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا أَبَدًا ۚ رَّضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ وَرَضُوا عَنْهُ ۚ ذَ‌ٰلِكَ الْفَوْزُ الْعَظِيمُ
    Allah will say: "This is a day on which the truthful will profit from their truth: theirs are gardens, with rivers flowing beneath,- their eternal Home: Allah well-pleased with them, and they with Allah. That is the great salvation, (the fulfilment of all desires).


    wait a minute...how can they be pleased with Allah?
    what does this mean? in order to know this we must ask ourselves first
    why were we created?

    وَمَا خَلَقْتُ الْجِنَّ وَالْإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُونِ
    I have only created Jinns and men, that they may serve Me.

    so to serve and worship Allah is why we are created
    and we do that by making him pleased with us
    but is he pleased with us?

    when we go to heaven will he be pleased?

    وَعَدَ اللَّهُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ جَنَّاتٍ تَجْرِي مِن تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا وَمَسَاكِنَ طَيِّبَةً فِي جَنَّاتِ عَدْنٍ ۚ وَرِضْوَانٌ مِّنَ اللَّهِ أَكْبَرُ ۚ ذَ‌ٰلِكَ هُوَ الْفَوْزُ الْعَظِيمُ

    so even thought we are in heaven there is still a greater pleasure

    so what about the people in hell fire who are buring?
    is he pleased with them? of course not, he is not pleased with them

    so why did they (those in hell) not belief?
    they made fun of the messegers and their messeges

    so what does Allah say about those in the hell fire

    يَا حَسْرَةً عَلَى الْعِبَادِ ۚ مَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا كَانُوا بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِئُونَ
    أَلَمْ يَرَوْا كَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُم مِّنَ الْقُرُونِ أَنَّهُمْ إِلَيْهِمْ لَا يَرْجِعُونَ
    Ah! Alas for (My) Servants! There comes not an apostle to them but they mock him! See they not how many generations before them we destroyed? Not to them will they return

    so why does Allah say:

    يَا حَسْرَةً عَلَى الْعِبَادِ
    Ah! Alas for (My) Servants!

    because one of his qualities is that he is the most merciful
    AL RAHMAN AL RAHEEM

    so is he more merciful than we are towards our family and friends who ended up in Hell fire?

    yes he is much more merciful and if we grief about them a bit, his grief is much more, and why is that?

    because he is the MOST MERCIFUL - AL RAHMAN AL RAHIM

    so what can we do so Allah is pleased with them?
    we can learn to worship him the way he is worthy to be worshipped, so it is not just about Allah being pleased with us but about Allah being pleased about ALL creation so we strive in this life to make the whole world guided in his path so no one goes to hell anymore and so Allah is pleased with his creation

    but is this possible?

    وَلِكُلٍّ وِجْهَةٌ هُوَ مُوَلِّيهَا ۖ فَاسْتَبِقُوا الْخَيْرَاتِ ۚ أَيْنَ مَا تَكُونُوا يَأْتِ بِكُمُ اللَّهُ جَمِيعًا ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
    To each is a goal to which Allah turns him; then strive together (as in a race) Towards all that is good. Wheresoever ye are, Allah will bring you Together. For Allah Hath power over all things.

    وَلَوْ شَاءَ رَبُّكَ لَجَعَلَ النَّاسَ أُمَّةً وَاحِدَةً ۖ وَلَا يَزَالُونَ مُخْتَلِفِينَ
    If thy Lord had so willed, He could have made mankind one people: but they will not cease to dispute.

    وَلَوْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ لَجَعَلَكُمْ أُمَّةً وَاحِدَةً وَلَـٰكِن يُضِلُّ مَن يَشَاءُ وَيَهْدِي مَن يَشَاءُ ۚ وَلَتُسْأَلُنَّ عَمَّا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
    If Allah so willed, He could make you all one people: But He leaves straying whom He pleases, and He guides whom He pleases: but ye shall certainly be called to account for all your actions.

    and will we be asked about this greatest Joy one day?

    ثُمَّ لَتُسْأَلُنَّ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَنِ النَّعِيمِ
    Then, shall ye be questioned that Day about the joy (ye indulged in!).


    the greatest Joy is to make every creature on earth worship God alone and take no other God as partners and so our Goal of being created is achieved fully..and we learned WHY God created us ( to worship him) and so we also learned how to create him (by guiding others to worship him also)

    and why do we do that? because we do not care about the pleasure of heaven anymore, we care about the pleasure of pleasing Allah so he is pleased with us and we are pleased with his pleasure, and what kind of people would do this? people who love Allah!

    يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مَن يَرْتَدَّ مِنكُمْ عَن دِينِهِ فَسَوْفَ يَأْتِي اللَّهُ بِقَوْمٍ يُحِبُّهُمْ وَيُحِبُّونَهُ أَذِلَّةٍ عَلَى الْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَعِزَّةٍ عَلَى الْكَافِرِينَ يُجَاهِدُونَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَلَا يَخَافُونَ لَوْمَةَ لَائِمٍ ۚ ذَ‌ٰلِكَ فَضْلُ اللَّهِ يُؤْتِيهِ مَن يَشَاءُ ۚ وَاللَّهُ وَاسِعٌ عَلِيمٌ
    O ye who believe! if any from among you turn back from his Faith, soon will Allah produce a people whom He will love as they will love Him,- lowly with the believers, mighty against the rejecters, fighting in the way of Allah, and never afraid of the reproaches of such as find fault. That is the grace of Allah, which He will bestow on whom He pleaseth. And Allah encompasseth all, and He knoweth all things.


    and so he does not say anymore:

    يَا حَسْرَةً عَلَى الْعِبَادِ ۚ مَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا كَانُوا بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِئُونَ
